The UTMA RISING 3 tournament has taken its final shape. The full fight card has been officially announced, and it will be crowned by UTMA’s gift to the fans – a rematch between two UTMA fighters, Justinas Gedminas and Matas Pultaražinskas.
As a reminder, the UTMA RISING 3 tournament will take place on September 23 at 18:00 in the Kaunas “Akropolis” shopping mall.
The tournament at Kaunas “Akropolis” will be held in the third-floor event space. Entry to the tournament is free. You can watch the tournament fights live on the UTMA YouTube channel.
A total of five kickboxing bouts will take place at the tournament, and the main event will feature a clash between two UTMA fighters – Justinas Gedminas and Matas Pultaražinskas will meet in a 67 kg kickboxing rematch.
As a reminder, these fighters first met back at the UTMA 11 event – that time, M. Pultaražinskas celebrated a second-round knockout victory. However, since then, M. Pultaražinskas has secured only one win and is currently on a three-fight losing streak, while J. Gedminas has managed to secure one win and suffered one loss.
“This is a fight from the main UTMA roster. This is definitely not a RISING-level bout – we chose to organize it within the framework of this tournament as a gift to the fans and to attract even more attention to the young fighters. We expect a sharp and powerful rematch. RISING fighters and even more fans will be able to witness a top-level fight featuring true UTMA fighters. They also deserve this higher expected attention, as they have repeatedly demonstrated the highest level in fights that could only be seen by arena spectators or PPV buyers,” stated UTMA head Viktoras Gecas.
The remaining eight fighters will battle not only for victories but also for special motivation. The future path in the organization for each of them will become clear immediately after the tournament – at the organization’s discretion, UTMA contracts will be handed out to the best-performing athletes. The exact number of contracts will only be revealed at the end of the event.
The tournament will open with a 58 kg kickboxing bout, which will take place with shin guards. It will feature “SunCity MMA” representative Dominykas Adomkevičius against “Titanas” fighter Emilis Meištavičius.
Meanwhile, in an 86 kg kickboxing bout, “Fighters Factory” fighter Žygimantas Baguckis will face “One Blood” representative Armandas Maknys. “Sparta” club fighter Ainas Baranauskas will step into an 86 kg kickboxing clash against “Titanas” representative Gabrielius Palubinskas. “Diamond Fight Club” fighter Nedas Nedzveckas will meet Benas Šorochovas, representing “Šorochovai Team” and “One Blood”, in an 81 kg kickboxing bout.
“To me, the most interesting bout should be between Nedas Nedzveckas and Benas Šorochovas – both fighters have already appeared in the professional ring, have fought in another organization, and are definitely already known in Lithuania. I believe this will be a completely uncompromising fight; both know what they are fighting for, both know they are on the verge of the main UTMA tournaments, and now this will be their chance to prove their worth,” commented V. Gecas.
