One of Lithuania’s greatest boxers of all time and former WBA welterweight world champion Eimantas Stanionis is making his return—the fighter will step into the ring once again at UTMA 19.
“I am extremely happy and grateful to the UTMA organization for the opportunity to fight in Lithuania once again. I really want to showcase a new version of myself; I put in tremendous effort and worked tirelessly. Finally, I’m getting back in the ring. I have found a new fire inside me—one that had somewhat faded and gone, but is now reignited. I can’t wait to be back under the lights,” Stanionis stated during a special UTMA press conference.
Stanionis will compete in a professional 10-round boxing contest at UTMA 19, taking place on September 26th at the Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas. The bout will serve as the event’s co-main attraction, with the main event featuring a blockbuster kickboxing clash between Sergejus Maslobojevas and Dominykas Dirkstys.
Tickets for the event are available via kakava.lt, and the live PPV broadcast can be ordered at UTMA.lt.
Stanionis’ opponent has not yet been announced, with the promotion set to reveal the matchup in the near future.
As a reminder, Stanionis fought professionally on Lithuanian soil for the first time at UTMA 13, securing a unanimous decision victory over Jabulani Makhense.
Throughout his professional career, Stanionis has amassed a record of 16 victories (9 by knockout) against just 1 defeat.
The pinnacle of Stanionis’ professional journey came in 2022 when he captured the WBA regular welterweight world championship title.
