Edvinas Šalkovskij, who signed a contract with UTMA, said: “Many UTMA fighters talk loudly, so we’ll see how they speak now and what they will say.”

On Wednesday, the UTMA combat sports organization officially signed contracts with three fighters from the “Sparta Gym” club—Edvinas Šalkovskij, Henrikas Vikšraitis, and Raimondas Avlasevičius—and reached a verbal agreement with Sergejus Maslobojevas.

At a special press conference held at the Žalgirio Arena, where he officially signed the contract, Edvinas Šalkovskij promised to put on a great show in the future and revealed his ambition to fight Dominykas Dirkstys.

“I’m very pleased to have joined this organization. We’ll see how things turn out; there have been no fights yet, so we haven’t seen everything yet. Over time, everything will be revealed,” said Šalkovskij. “I believe that in the UTMA organization, I will achieve what I wanted. My dream was to fight in the best organization, and it’s finally happening.”

Previously fighting in the “King of Kings” (KOK) organization, Šalkovskij noted that there are fighters in UTMA who “talk too loudly,” and he is interested to see how they will speak now.

“There was a great offer, and many UTMA fighters talk loudly, so we’ll see how they talk now and what they will say,” Šalkovskij explained about his motivation to join UTMA.

One of these fighters is currently UTMA’s pound-for-pound leader, Dominykas Dirkstys, who has 4 wins and 1 loss to Mindaugas Narauskas. Earlier this year in March, Dirkstys suggested on Instagram that he could fight two KOK fighters—Raimondas Krilavičius and Šalkovskij—in one evening, demanding 10 thousand for his appearance.

“Of course, I have the ambition to fight him. I always go into a fight to win; it would be better to win as quickly as possible, but a fight is a fight,” said Šalkovskij.

At just 19 years old, Šalkovskij hopes to prove in the UTMA organization that he is the best in Lithuania in his weight category up to 91 kg.

Delivering a message to fans, Šalkovskij promised a great show: “I want to tell them that there will be many great fights, a lot of show, and it will be very fun.”

The UTMA organization will hold its next event at the Žalgirio Arena in Kaunas on September 28, and the tenth UTMA tournament is scheduled for November 8 at the Kaunas Sports Hall.
