UTMA continues its goal of raising the younger generation of fighters and returns with a crucial format for this purpose – on September 23rd, the UTMA RISING 3 tournament will take place at the Kaunas “Akropolis”.
The tournament at Kaunas “Akropolis” will be held in the third-floor event space, and the fights will start at 18:00. Entry to the tournament is free.
“We chose the RISING tournament concept previously and now because we see an important function of UTMA – not only to organize fights between well-known names, but also to provide a platform for the youth, fighters who have less experience. We do not want to bring the youth straight from the gyms into huge arenas where there is too much pressure and too many spectators’ eyes. We choose smaller spaces with fewer spectators, where young fighters can warm up before the big stage. RISING is returning, and we hope that we will maintain this model in the future and offer more options for the youth to prove themselves,” said UTMA Head Viktoras Gecas.
5 kickboxing fights will take place at the UTMA RISING 3 tournament, and the full fight card and tournament participants will be announced very soon.
A special motivation for the young fighters will become the main highlight of the tournament.
The further path for each of them in the organization will become clear immediately after the tournament – at the organization’s discretion, UTMA contracts will be handed out to the best-performing athletes. The exact number of contracts will only be revealed at the end of the event.
“The essential motivation for the fighters will be a contract with UTMA. The point is simple – the fighters appearing in the RISING tournament are already very close to UTMA, we are interested in them, we want to sign contracts with them, and this will be an opportunity for us to evaluate them during the fights,” stated V. Gecas.
